Summer Learning Journey

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce hold the record for worlds fastest woman she holds the world record. For the next 2 weeks we are doing the summer learning journey teaser where we have to post everyday about certain subjects.

Film Festival Review

Last week the whole of grey main school went to the regent along with Paroa and a couple others to watch the films that schools around the west coast made and we had to judge the best and make a slide on how we felt the other schools did. here is my slide.

Heroes reading challenge

For the next couple of weeks for topic we have to look at hero's here is my first task. Where you look at the text then find the answers to the questions.

We also made a drawing with interactive superhero with what we thought the best parts about a hero.

Fractions DLO

This week we did a fractions DLO. We were sent a sheet that had many questions on it, we got to chose one equitation and answer the question and also show why. Here is my work

Fractions

For maths we have been looking at fractions. We got to chose what fractions to use then we hat to fill out the boxes here is my maths for this week.

Blank Canvass

This week we have been looking at tying to make images instead of using images from google here is my school bus.

Once we were finished we had to describe what we did and what it was like being there this is my writing.
This is my google drawing is a bus I used many different shapes the make the bus and used a google image for the side of the bus and I made my friends out of photos of them I made the road using only rectangles and I made the background Gradient. I could see my friend clambering up onto the bus I could feel the sun burning my skin, I could smell my friends B.O and I can hear the bus engine roaring.

My Super Power

This term we have been having career classes and we have been talking about our "super powers" I said mine was being a friend we had to show what skills you needed to be good at this skill or activity. Here is what skills l believe you need  to be a good friend - Empathy, Trust, Listening and Patience. Here is my google drawing.

World Cup

This week on Tuesday our school held rugby world cup where the school separated into many different teams (country's) I was on team Canada we had to play many different games with other teams and get points over all our team got 54 points and came third in the school. It was really fun and I can't wain for next year.

Girls Work Harder than boys.

This week we have been looking at writing an argument here is me and Casey's writing it took us a long time but we finished in the end. Do you think girls work harder than boys.

Girls work harder than boys.

Hard work is when you put a great deal of effort or endurance.

majority of the world knows that girls work harder at school than boys.

I strongly believe girls work harder at school than boys for the following reasons. 

Firstly girls mature faster.

It is a known fact that girls mature faster than boys. Now scientists have discovered for the first time that girls brains can develop up to ten years earlier than boys brains can. As you can tell going to any school you can see that the majority of boys are not working as hard as girls and are and making sure that there work is up to standard but the majority of boys don’t really care.

Secondly girls have stronger emotions.

Girls all around the world’s emotions are very unpredictable which can start so many dramas and fights so girls have to figure out their social life and keep on top of their school work for their future. 

           

Lastly girls have to work harder to get better jobs. And be better in there future boys tend to not work as hard as girls in schools and some boys don't need to try as hard. To get good paying jobs just because boys are virtually stronger.

PrEP 2019

At school we have PrEP which is a thing were the everyone in the school makes a business and we have to try make and sell we only have two weeks to make the products on the first Thursday on the first week we had a mini market and today we have big market we made 1085

Enlargement

For maths we got to chose what to do and I chose we have been looking at enlargement I decided that I wanted to make gorge pig I don't know why. first we had to research the facts abut enlargement and make a DLO then we had to line the paper and start drawing in pencil then we had to colour it in with pastel.

Video games Argument

For the past weeks we have been looking in to how to write an argument and today we got to chose if we are for or against video games here is my argument.

Video Games are when a person plays an electronic game that is played on either a computer on console.

There are many different types of video games that are played all over the world such as adventure, survival, learning and puzzle.

people of all ages and all over the world play video games and there is a game for everyone.

Many people think that video games are harmful but as long as you stick to the guidelines of the games they are completely harmless.

I believe video games are harmless for the following reasons.

Firstly Video Games Keep kids occupied. When you are busy kids can play video games. this helps parents all over the world and it will give parents time to relax or even if you want it can bring you and your children together by bonding over different games. 

Secondly Video Games are educational. Many games help with learning. They might not be labelled educational to help children learn to make decisions, use strategies, and see consequences and express their personalities but there are so many games that you will find one that your kids like and will help them to learn. My brother play number games and he enjoys it and it helps him learn. 

Lastly Video Games are great for eye coordination. Many players learn to use their motor skills better because you have to use hand and eye coordination.  It has been seen that people who play action video games such as Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed are able to learn hand-eye coordination more quickly than non-gamers. Scientists say that For people with poor hand-eye coordination, like individuals with autism, video games could help them develop their skills.

I believe that video games are not harmful because they are great for eye coronation, Are educational and it keeps kids occupied that’s why I strongly believe that video games are not harmful.

In New Zealand we have just introduced EnChroma glasses which make people
with colour blindness to see colours more vibrantly and
distinctly.  1 in 12 men and 1 in 260 women of New Zealanders have
colour blindness. The starting price for a pair of glasses is
around $520 which is a lot but if you want to see colour now you have a option

This week for Reading My group has been trying to find other opinions about stoats and if they are pests. One of our tasks was to put the groups opinions in a text box.
